Weatherproof appliances
While
weatherproof appliances are an important aspect of today's
outdoor
kitchens, water
and weather-proof materials are also an important part of the
design. An endless
variety of tile can be used on the "floor," backsplash, fireplaces, and
countertops. Anything from glass, ceramic, and natural stone are common
and create equally unique looks. Most designers find this feature a great
opportunity to get creative and produce a true work of art for their clients.
Countertop material can vary from natural stone surfaces, like granite and
soapstone, to tile, or perhaps integrated stainless steel, all of which
can withstand changes in the weather.
Other imaginative components in
outdoor
kitchens may include
wood burning stoves, fireplaces, wet bars, deck heaters, custom pergolas,
a microwave drawer, or commercial style sink sprayers. As people continue
to spend more and more time at home with their friends and families,
outdoor
kitchens
offer an entirely new way to cook, eat and entertain. The possibilities
are endless, so continue to eat, drink and entertain in style.
Floor options
Cast Concrete
Tile for Outdoor Kitchens
Another versatile material that's suitable
for the outdoor kitchen is cast concrete tile. This material can be cleaned
easily and doesn't require polishing. It almost looks like standard paving
concrete, except it's finished with a coating that keeps it looking new
and clean year round. Concrete finishes such as stamped concrete or salt-finished
concrete are durable, affordable and among the safest options for the kitchen
because they do not become slippery when wet.
Unhoned Travertine
for Outdoor Kitchens
When you're decorating a Mediterranean-style
kitchen or Old World Europe inspired outdoor kitchen space, unhoned travertine
may be your best match. This smooth, polished with a rugged finish won't
become slippery when wet and is available in a variety of colors.
Slate for Outdoor
Kitchens
If you're designing a contemporary kitchen,
slate may be your best choice because of its smooth finish and rich color
options. Slate is easy to wash and maintain, and is also very durable. It's
often found in modern outdoor kitchen spaces and color choices range from
black to pastel colors.

Huntersville, North Carolina, in Mecklenburg county, is 12 miles N of Charlotte,
North Carolina. The town is located in the Charlotte - Gastonia - Rock Hill
metropolitan area. Huntersville has a population of 24,960.
Huntersville History
This town was originally called Craighead. It was renamed Huntersville in

was officially incorporated as a town in 1873. The town's fertile land and

and a brickyard, which provided bricks for houses in the older sections
of Huntersville.
